I’ve decided to up the list amount for my favorite superhero movies to 10 because 5 is not enough for both the Marvel and DC Comics side. There are a few movies coming out soon that will easily make this list such as The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, and possibly Man of Steel. So I might have to update the list in the future.
1. – Batman Begins
Easily my favorite comic related superhero movie, and in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. Christopher Nolan is by far my favorite director and I love all his movies. Christian Bale is a great actor for Bruce Wayne / Batman. The storyline of how Bruce Wayne became Batman is really well done and my favorite Batman villain Ra’s al Ghul was his main opponent. It doesn’t get much better than that for me.
2. – The Dark Knight
For many people, the sequel to Batman Begins outdid the first movie. Personally, I think it was a better movie overall topped by Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker. However, I liked the first movie better so this comes in at number two for me. The acting was phenomenal all around and the transformation of Harvey Dent was perfectly done. It had a very dark feel overall which made it an even better realistic film.
3. – Spider-Man
I had a hard time deciding the third spot, but it goes to Spider-Man since he was/is one of my favorite superheroes of all time. The movie did a really good job with the storyline behind Peter Parker, in which Tobey Maguire was a good choice. Green Goblin is a classic villain from the comics. Overall, really good superhero movie with a good story, good actors, good fight scenes, etc.
4. – Iron Man
Iron Man came in number four with Robert Downey Jr. as the perfect Tony Stark. He was the perfect fit and added so much humor to the movie. Despite the comical parts of the film, it was a very entertaining story. I loved the opening half of the movie with Stark being held hostage and him secretly designing his first armor suit.
5. – Captain America
One of the latest films released from the Marvel side was Captain America, and it was great. All of the movies introducing the team members of the Avengers in preparation for the upcoming film have been extremely well done and linked appropriately. Cap America vs. the Red Skull in this film was the perfect combo to represent each side of the war between good and evil that is ever so present in films. Although Chris Evans was already the Human Torch in Fantastic Four, he put on some serious muscle and played Steve Rogers very well. Loved this movie.
6. – Thor
Finally a movie featuring my favorite character of all time now and forever. I love everything about Thor, and the movie depicted him perfectly to his comic-book self. They got his cocky Asgardian personality spot on. The movie could have been longer with more fight scenes, but overall great introduction movie to his story as it tied into The Avengers film.
7. – Iron Man 2
Great sequel featuring Whiplash is the villain. Him and War Machine were great additions to the Iron Man film. Those two teaming up was awesome. The humor was present in this sequel as much as the first giving the audience tons to laugh about and left them awed in the great visual effects.
8. – Incredible Hulk
I used to be repulsed by the Hulk, but lately his interpretations have been much better especially in the new cartoon Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes, where he isn’t just a dumb giant green monster. They chose Ed Norton, one of my favorite actors, as Bruce Banner. Good chase movie with a great ending fight vs. the Abomination. Power vs power. It’s unfortunate the studio and Norton couldn’t agree on a deal for him to remain in the upcoming Avengers as Bruce Banner. I hate when they switch actors. Anyways, good movie, MUCH better than the previous one which was an utter failure.
9. – Batman
Classic film with Jack Nicholson portraying the Joker. Much different interpretation compared to the Ledger’s, but nonetheless a job well done. He had more of a comical side to his personality rather than dark. This is the best movie of the older Batman films because of him. It deserves a place on the top 10 list for sure.
10. – Green Lantern
The newest Dc Comics superhero film to come out was Green Lantern. A lot of people bashed on this movie, and while I agree it could have been much better if they changed the story sequence with Sinestro and Parallax order switched in first and the possible second film in the future. However, despite the issues present in the film, I still thought it was an entertaining movie featuring one of my favorite characters and storylines Green Lantern and the Corps. I liked the actors in this film ALOT and Sinestro is my favorite villain and since his character was well done I enjoyed the film.

I can’t believe that green lantern made the list… But that’s my opinion. Anyone else?
