To conclude my posts on my top 5 lists of comic book characters, here are my favorite DC Comics villains. Fairly easy list for me to decide upon except the #5 spot.

1. – Sinestro

By far my favorite villain of all time. I just love his story and his transition from green will to yellow fear. Sinestro was recently featured in the superhero movie Green Lantern, and I felt his character was really well done.

2. – Ra’s al Ghul

Ra’s al Ghul is my favorite Batman villain. His plot to save the world by destroying most of humanity is in some respects plausible, and I just love the Lazarus Pits he uses to be nearly immortal. Ra’s will be making a return in the upcoming superhero movie The Dark Knight Rises, and his Lazarus Pits will be connected somehow as well.

3. – Doomsday

I put Doomsday at number 3 because he is most known for being the only character to have killed Superman. Now that is truly a remarkable feat considering how overpowered Superman is. His background story is interesting where he was artificially bred to hate life, and his unique power of being immune to whatever previously killed him makes him the most powerful character of all time. The only way to stop this brutal and vicious creature is to delay him from getting to you.

4. – Darkseid

This character has a strong resemblance to Apocalypse and Thanos from the Marvel side. And rightly so, he is just as powerful as they are. Him and Superman have intense fights. He’s another superpowered being who wants to control the world.

5. – Bane

Have to include the man who broke the Bat. He is the only villain who has successfully defeated Batman. While people only think of Bane as a super strong guy with his Venom formula enhancements, he is also a master strategist and genius. These traits helped him defeat the smartest superhero detective Batman, and for that he is on my top 5 list.
