Marvel Battle Tournament – Round 1 – Savage Land Section

Here are my predictions for each individual match from the first section of the marvel battle tournament bracket. Check out the FULL BRACKET and more details on the tournament that I provided earlier by clicking the link. For each matchup I will give the pros and cons for both opponents whether they be a superhero or villain. I want to apologize beforehand if I make any mistakes on individual characters and to all of the technical nerds in terms of who would win, please hold your tongues. This tournament is for fun and is more of a popular vote anyways because some matches are impossible to decide in terms of who is more powerful when they could both obliterate the other with a blink of the eye. I’ve also included the polls for those who haven’t voted yet to do so.

Name: Venom
Pros: symbiotic suit that gives him regeneration and enhanced physical abilities, webbing, size
Cons: vulnerable to loud sounds

Name: Wolverine
Pros: healing factor, adamantium infused into his bones makes him nearly indestructible, slow aging = experienced, claws
Cons: vulnerable to those who can manipulate metal

Winner Prediction: Wolverine shreds Venom’s webbing traps with his adamantium laced claws and comes out victorious

Name: Scorpion
Pros: enhanced speed, strength, agility, endurance, tail
Cons: mentally unstable

Name: Deadpool
Pros: healing factor, immune to poisons and diseases, enhanced agility, master assassin and marksman, weapons, teleportation
Cons: merc with a mouth stupidity

Winner Prediction: Deadpool easily wins with his healing factor and vast array of weapons by cutting off Scorpion’s tail and then finishing him off.

Name: Cable
Pros: telekinesis, telepathy, futuristic weapons and technology, cyborg, and many more
Cons: TO virus if uncontrolled

Name: Kingpin
Pros: brute strength
Cons: big target

Winner Prediction: Cable would whip Kingpin’s fat @$$ even without any future weapons he’s incredibly strong psychically.

Name: Elektra
Pros: sais, skilled martial artist
Cons: no powers

Name: Dr. Octopus
Pros: mentally controlled titanium tentacles
Cons: powerless without tentacles

Winner Prediction: Doc Ock wins easily. Elektra’s sais are no match for his flesh tearing tentacles.

Name: Spider-Man
Pros: superhuman strength and agility, spider-sense, web shooters
Cons: easily defeated if hit

Name: M.O.D.O.K.
Pros: psionic ability and intellect
Cons: mobility

Winner Prediction: Spidey evades all of MODOK’s energy blasts and weapons and knocks him off his hover-chair to beat him.

Name: Hulk
Pros: limitless superhuman physical strength fueled by emotion, resistance to extreme temperatures
Cons: none

Name: Iceman
Pros: ice projectiles and ice form
Cons: limited to lowering temperatures

Winner Prediction: Hulk smash shatters Iceman’s ice form into millions of pieces after his ice projectiles are proven to be ineffective vs. resistant Hulk.

Name: Omega Red
Pros: superhuman strength, Carbonadium coils
Cons: needs to drain life forces to maintain power

Name: Human Torch
Pros: fire, flight
Cons: open to various forms of attack

Winner Prediction: If Omega Red could catch Human Torch with his Carbonadium coils he would win, but Torch’s flight and fireball attacks from a distance would probably be enough to win.

Name: Lady Deathstrike
Pros: cyborg, Adamantium finger claws
Cons: long time to repair after receiving damage

Name: Dr. Strange
Pros: magic, mystical artifacts
Cons: focuses only on magic based attacks

Winner Prediction: Dr. Strange’s mastery of magic is too much for Lady Deathstrike to handle. He would defeat her very quickly with his artifacts and would prevent her from repairing, therefore win.
